I am a firm believer that we are not the sum total of what we've done or what has happened to us. Each of us are uniquely complex. There is no one in the world quite like you or me. We're affected by more than meets the eye - our temperament, wiring, genetics, thoughts, beliefs, experiences....the list is endless. My goal is to help people, as it says in the serenity prayer "accept the things they cannot change, the courage to change the things they can, and the wisdom to know the difference." We can't change the details of our story, but we can tell our story in a place of safety and come to acceptance. My commitment is to give people space to tell their story in a space of non-judgment and acceptance and support them on the journey toward change.
As a trauma-informed practitioner, my work is also committed toward helping people heal and find resolution from traumatic events in their lives. While we cannot change the "what was" of our lives, we can soften those sharp edges of trauma wounds so they can be part of your narrative without defining you nor hijacking the essence of who you are. I committed to collaborating with you on that journey.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Together, we can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. I utilize many powerful tools including EMDR to help individuals find resolution to traumas in their life.
I specialize in the utilization of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) an effective therapeutic modality for trauma. EMDR helps individuals process catastrophic events, unwanted negative beliefs about self, anxiety, as well as other complex trauma. EMDR is based in science and research into how our brains process trauma. I have advanced training in the following applications for EMDR:
Sometimes a traditional 55-minute session of therapy is not as effective as a longer block of time spent on multiple targets/issues.

I now offer what is called EMDR Intensives. Some people may benefit from scheduling a longer block of time doing EMDR.
EMDR Intensives are generally two to four 90-minute sessions speed out over a single day or multiple sessions in two to three days. We still follow the 8-phase model of EMDR.
Many clients have reported a significant shift in symptoms and rapid results from EMDR intensives.

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we work, together to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy in your life.
While my practice is open to people of all faith traditions, as a Christian therapist, I delight in helping people to strengthen their faith. Sometimes we need help to resolve old wounds that keep us from experiencing the unconditional love of God. I am always honored to help others on their journey.
