EXPANDED SERVICES FOR COVID-19
I am a firm believer that we are not the sum total of what we've done or what has happened to us. Each of us are uniquely complex. There is no one in the world quite like you or me. We're affected by more than meets the eye - our temperament, wiring, genetics, thoughts, beliefs, experiences....the list is endless. My goal is to help people, as it says in the serenity prayer "accept the things they cannot change, the courage to change the things they can, and the wisdom to know the difference." We can't change the details of our story, but we can tell our story in a place of safety and come to acceptance and write a different narrative of the facts. My commitment is to give people space to tell their story in a space of non-judgment and acceptance and support them on the journey toward change.
"The greatest source of our suffering are the lies we believe about ourselves."
Bessel van der Kolk
Whatever keeps you from being the best version of yourself is based on a lie or a memory.
EMDR quote
We often need space to tell our story in a non-judgmental safe place. It is important to me to provide that space where people can process issues and perhaps write a new narrative, develop stronger internal resources and find resolution. Sometimes speaking your story out loud with an empathic, non-judgmental person is worth its weight in gold.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Together, we can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing. I utilize many powerful tools including EMDR to help individuals find resolution to traumas in their life.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we work, together to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy in your life.
While my practice is open to people of all faith traditions, as a Christian therapist, I delight in helping people to strengthen their faith. Sometimes we need help to resolve old wounds that keep us from experiencing the unconditional love of God. I am always honored to help others on their journey.

This last two years have been exceptionally challenging with the coronavirus. As we hopefully round the corner of the worst of the pandemic, many are still experiencing emotional fall-out from the trauma of the last two years. Many still struggle with isolation and most have experienced some change in their relationships. It almost goes without saying that each individual endured some level of trauma during 2020/2021. And the future is still somewhat up for grabs.
It is extremely normal for this pandemic to bring up old issues. It is not uncommon for people to experience anxiety, depression, despair, sleeplessness, and/or irritation. If this is you, you are having a normal reaction to significant situational distress. You are not alone in this.
I have extensive training in a therapy model, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, better known as EMDR, that is designed to help people work through current or older traumatic experiences and painful memories that have come up as a result of the tumultuous times we live in. If you would like to learn more about EMDR or how it could be helpful to you, please feel free to give me a call or send an email and arrange for a free consultation.
